If you read fantasy in any capacity, you'll probably find this funny. But if you've been around my alter ego (Lindsey Pogue) and read her books and worlds, you know some Ending World abilities come with some crazy side effects - like talking to animals.
Beau had his wolves in the Savage North Chronicles. Dani had, well, all the animals in The Ending Series. In the Darkborn world we have Helhounds and animal shifters. But why no pigs? Ha!

Men of the North is an interesting series I stumbled across. If you're looking for an easy-to-read series that's a bit "out of the box" in the dystopian/romance genre, this one could be fun. While reading book one, I got "Demolition Man" (90s movie reference) and Viking vibes. A strange combo, I know. But that's why it was intriguing. Christine, the FMC, gave me Sandra Bullock vibes all the way.
It's different from anything I've read, poses some interesting questions about society, and I had a few laugh out loud moments with the culture clashes. I've only read book one - The Protector - but I'm definitely intrigued to try the next in the lineup. It's not super deep world building or crazy steamy romance, just fast, fun, and will leave you pondering "what if."

I haven't ugly cried writing a story in so long. Today is that day. I keep telling myself it's a fictional character and this is ridiculous. And yet...
The only time I remember crying this bad while writing was Untamed in the Savage North Chronicles. If you've read it, you know exactly which scene I'm talking about. Beau, Thea, Luna....
Don't worry, no animals were harmed in this scene. Fatesworn is book 3 in The Darkborn. I'm halfway through the draft. It's slow going, but boy, is it a rollercoaster.
